What is video out on a vga card? is it a function or just a port?

hello

I have a JVC TV Model: AV-25MX55

I tried to connect it to my desktop PC via a (VGA to 3RCA Component Converter Adapter Cable) but it didn't work.

I have an integrated display adapter (Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family)

mother board type: Intel Corporation D945GCNL AAD97184-106

i search the web and found that my vga card should have a video out (function).

can any anybody help me with this matter?

thank you very much.|||The only video-out on the D945GCNL is VGA-out. That means the only video signal that the motherboard is capable of outputting is VGA.

That adapter you tried to use will never work with your board. You cannot use a VGA-to-Component breakout adapter with that VGA port, because it does not output a YPbPr component signal.

In any case, your JVC TV is an old low-definition vacuum-tube television and is not suitable for use with computers. That is why unlike HDTVs that are computer-ready, boob-tube TVs like your JVC does not have any high-definition inputs like HDMI or VGA.

If you insist on using that JVC TV, then you either buy a scan converter box to translate the 945GCNL's VGA signal to component or whatever your JVC can use, or you buy a video card with that function built-in. I wouldn't bother though because the image will look rather poor anyway-- Might as well save that money for an LCD HDTV.|||It's a port that you would hook a monitor up to.

Video goes out from the card and into the monitor.
