I'm want to hook a computer to a digital television and be able to use the computer Monitor at the same time. The television has hdmi,dvi,component and catv connections.|||There are video digitizers with component output, but that's not what you want.
What you should use is a video card that has outputs that can run your monitor and the TV at the same time. My preference would be DVI or HDMI for the TV, and VGA or DVI for your monitor.
If you're not trying to game with this set up, a safe bet would be the low end Radeon HD 5450 video card with VGA/DVI and HDMI outputs all capable of being used simultaneously. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
