How does one go about installing all the components of a new Video Card?

I just bought Empire: Total War and I tried to play it. I have all of the system requirements for the game except for the video/graphics.



I am running Windows XP on a Dell 8400 with 3 Ghz Intel processor, 2GB of memory, etc.



Currently I have a Radion video card installed. I have a new graphics card ready to go, a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 256mb.



I am not sure how to go about this. Do I uninstall the current card's driver, remove the card and put the new one in and install the drivers for the new one?



If anyone knows the process exactly, it would be a big help to me.

Thanks|||Uninstall the current ATI drivers and then use Driver Cleaner and clean out out the remaining bits of driver. Install your new card and then install drivers from the Nvidia website.
