I was wondering if this video card (XFX ATI Radeon HD 5670 (HD-567X-ZNF3)
and ram (CORSAIR XMS 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory
will work with this mother board (ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard) and processor (AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor)
thanks.|||Yes... that will work, provided you have at least a 400W power supply. I'd suggest 500W since you're running a Phenom II X6 1090T processor.
Are you building a computer specifically for movie editing or 3D design work, and only light/occasional gaming? If so, it looks great. If not, the Radeon HD 5670 doesn't really make sense for the build.
For a gaming computer, the graphics card is the single most important component. Roughly 75% of your performance relies upon the GPU while the CPU only accounts for about 25%. So for a gaming computer, you should be allocating at least as much money on your GPU as you put into your CPU.
The Radeon HD 5670 is a $75 card that's well-matched with budget processors like the Athlon II X3 450 and Athlon II X4 630. But with $200 invested in your processor and $100 in 8gb of RAM (of which only 4gb is useful for games) you'd want a much higher-end graphics card, at least a Radeon HD 5770 and preferably a HD 6870 or GeForce GT 460.
