I would like to update my video card to play Battlefield 3. Currently I have an ATI Radeon HD 4200 that came with the computer. I have 8 gigs of ram and an AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 830 Processor. I don't know much about buying computer components, so any advice would be gladly appreciated.|||Assuming your desktop has a PCIe x16 slot available...the 6850 would be a good deal at about $150. You would have to have a PSU with minimum wattage of 450W and a 6 pin connector. I recommend using the 20% rule...that is what ever the minimum wattage of the video card...ADD 20% in your case 450W + 20% = 540W or 550W like this...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
I like this video card, but you can chose your own brand...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
Newegg has about the best prices and fast delivery, plus excellent reputation and service...check out their 6850's here...http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…|||Well anything would be a huge upgrade from where you are now! By the way, what's the resolution of your screen/monitor?
In general for Battlefield 3 you'll want a Radeon HD 6850/GTX 460 or higher.

And in order to run cards like that, you'll need to upgrade your computer's power supply.

Newegg is cheap and has everything you could ever want with computers.
And graphics card that's between 100-200$ is a good bet! :D
Also... The more memory it has the better. and the faster it runs the better. Usually you want at least 1GB|||The ATI 6870 is the best buy, but if you want anything above medium, then look for the dual Nvidia cards that costs liek $500+
